Graphic Design Internship

Description

Love and Respect Now (LRN) is seeking qualified individuals for a part-time graphic design internship. Please note, this position will require approximately 10-15 hours/week. While the schedule and location are flexible, it will require a daily allocation of time due to the fact that social media and marketing initiatives must be kept current and in “real time.”

This internship will begin in January 2014 and will last 3-6 months depending on the selected candidate’s success in the role and his/her school and/or career schedule.

The Love and Respect Now culture is one of hard work and high expectation, while maintaining a spirit of humor, sincerity and excellence. We exist to support 18-35 year olds on their relationship journeys – whether single, dating, married or divorced – providing advice and support based on the principles outlined in Love and Respect, by Emerson Eggerichs.

Specific Job Responsibilities

  • Brainstorm, recommend and implement innovative and fun initiatives to enhance social media presence, reach a wider audience, and communicate the message and vision of the organization
  • Create 1-2 Facebook cover photos and 5-10 Instagram-ready posts per week, incorporating images and text in a way that supports organizational branding
  • Design artwork and images to be used in blog posts and on the website
  • Assist with web development as needed
  • Communicate clearly and collaborate effectively with other team members
  • Contribute ideas to our weekly 30-minute Google+ meetings about how to best serve the LRN community

 

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Belief in the mission of Love and Respect Now
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Strong communication skills, particularly written
  • Awareness of current events and cultural trends
  • Extreme attention to detail and ability to manage multiples priorities and deadlines
  • Able to take direction and accurately apply instruction
  • Self-starter
  • Creative
  • Ability to work independently, including troubleshooting and problem-solving
  • Own a computer and have reliable internet access
  • Previous professional experience using photo editing software and/or applications, Instagram, and Facebook a must
